Vals, with its 1000 inhabitants, is located at 1252 meters above sea level in a side valley of the Grisons Oberland, the Surselva. With its 152 km2 area Vals is the sixth largest municipality in Graubünden. Its wilderness and diversity in a confined space, the Valsertal owes the forces of water. In millions of years, ice and rain have formed the deeply cut mountain valley. At a temperature of 30 ° C, the only thermal spring in Graubünden gushes out of the ground in Vals. Also the famous mineral water "Valser" has its origin here.
Day 1: Meeting point at 9.30 am at the Hotel Valserhof in Vals. For a stress-free start to the course, we recommend an extra night from Friday to Saturday in the Valserhof. After checking the equipment, we start right outside the front door to our first tour on the Höreli, 2409 m. Impressive view of Vals and the surrounding mountains. The shady descent promises us powder snow right up to the hotel! 1100 vertical meters, ascent time approx. 4 hours.
Day 2: Today we already enjoy the royal tour! Take the train to the Dachberg and, after a short but steep descent, a short ascent to the Frunthorn, 3030 m. The view of the Rheinwaldhorn and the Güferhorn will inspire us. The highlight of the day is the 1800-meter descent back to the valley station :-D 400 meters in altitude, ascent time approx. 1 1/2 hours.
Day 3: From Zerfreila, at the very back in the Valser valley near the dam, we start our tour on the Wissgrätli, 2866 m. After extensive photography of the original Matterhorn, the Zerfreilahorn, we enjoy the wild high mountain world on an exciting downhill route. In the restaurant Zerfreila we treat ourselves to the famous blueberry cake and a glögg. 1000 meters in altitude, ascent time approx. 4 hours.
Day 4: For our final tour to the Faltschonhorn, 3022 m, we benefit again from the cable cars. The panorama right in front of the Piz Aul and with a deep view into the Val Lumnezia is impressive. Long descent via Leis, where we stop at the restaurant Ganni, and on to Vals. 1000 meters in altitude, ascent time approx. 4 hours.
