Desire and joy to dare the step from climbing in the hall to outside on the real rock. Ideally good basic knowledge in belaying with GK 1 and 2 (basic course 1 and 2, belaying in toprope and lead).
Program
Introduction to climbing in outdoor climbing, knots, ropes, belaying, abseiling, climbing in the lead, multi-rope climbing.
The Sonnenstube in Switzerland offers great climbing routes in all lengths and difficulty levels. Most of the routes have Plaisir character, that is, they are set up with sufficient numbers of pegs and at a reasonable distance so that climbing in the lead can be easily learned and used. The climbs are adapted in length and difficulty to the skill and composition of the group.
Scheduled tour program
Saturday: Meeting point at 9.30 am at the train station in Bellinzona. Joint trip to Valle Maggia, where we learn or deepen the basic knowledge of climbing. Knot teaching, roping, securing, climbing technique, setting up stands, abseiling, etc. In addition to climbing in Toprope-style (with rope safety from above), each participant can also try themselves in the lead. With each climbing meter it is easier and the confidence in the own ability and in the friction of the climbing finches rises to infinity ......! Of course, an airy abseil also belongs to the experience! And who knows, maybe we can enjoy a refreshing dip in the Maggia after climbing ?! We enjoy dinner in the garden of the exclusive Ristorante Al Castagneto in Ponte Brolla.
Sunday: Depending on the conditions and skills of the participants, we will today climb a multi-pitched tour in one of the following areas: Ponte Brolla, Placca di Tegna or Rovine del Castelliere, Speroni di Ponte Brolla, Monte Garzo. Here we can deepen what we learned from the day before and enjoy climbing on the topp equipped routes in the best rock. After completing the tour, drive back to Bellinzona and complete the course.
