The Bernina with the famous Biancograt and probably the most beautiful three-thousanders of the Alps, the Piz Palü, will attract our eyes again and again magically. A week in the bosom of the Bernina, a mountain experience with pleasure!

Mountaineering experience, safe walking on crampons, climbing experience in the 2nd difficulty level, condition for ascents between 6 to 7 hours. The attendance of a basic course rock and ice is presupposed.

Program

Piz Glüschaint, Dschimels, Piz Sella, Piz Bernina, Piz Palü.

This varied week takes us through one of the most beautiful tour areas in the Alps. With the Piz Bernina we also climb the easternmost four-thousand-meter peaks of the Alps. Enjoy combined tours in rock and ice and relaxing moments in the well-run huts, including antipasti, pasta, vino rosso and fine espresso! Please start early with the training for these tours, we move every day in high alpine terrain and always well over 3000 meters above sea level.

Scheduled tour program

Monday: Meeting point at 2.00 pm in Surlej at the valley station of the Corvatschbahn. Take the aerial cableway to the middle station and climb to the Coaz Hut. Dinner together and discussion of the tour week.250 meters in altitude, ascent time approx. 1 hour, total walking time approx. 2 1/2 hours

Tuesday: Sightseeing tour to the Piz Glüschaint, 3594 m. The ascent is via the Vadret da Roseg and in easy climbing with places on the second degree of difficulty on the north ridge to the summit. 1000 meters in altitude, ascent time approx. 4 hours, total walking time approx. 7 hours

Wednesday: ascent of the Jimels, 3508 m, crossing to Piz Sella, 3517 m. Descent to the Sella Pass and over the upper Serscen glacier to the Marinelli hut, 2813 m, on the Italian side of the Bernina massif. 900 meters in altitude, ascent time approx. 4 hours, total walking time approx. 7 to 8 hours

Thursday: Ascent to Rifugio Marco e Rosa via the via ferrata and ascent of the Piz Bernina, 4049 m, via the normal route (Spallgrat). Airy ridge climbing and deep views included! Overnight at Rifugio Marco e Rosa. 1300 meters in altitude, ascent time approx. 6 hours, total walking time approx. 8 to 9 hours

Friday: Great crossing of the Piz Palü, 3905 m, one of the most beautiful and most photographed mountains in the Alps! Descent to the mountain inn Diavolezza. Completion of the tour week and return home. 500 meters in altitude, ascent time approx. 5 hours, total walking time approx. 8 hours
